Travel with confidence
Sharing a journey should feel as safe as travelling with a friend. Here's what we do, and what you can do, before, during and after every trip.
In an emergency, call 112
112 reaches police, ambulance and fire services anywhere in India. During an active trip you can also press SOS on your booking or ride page. It will:
- Alert our safety team straight away
- Text your emergency contact
- Create a live trip link to follow you
Safety tips for every trip
Before the trip
- Check the profile: verification badges, ratings from real co-travellers and the reliability score.
- Keep chat and payment inside the app. Never pay a host in cash or by transfer outside the app.
- Confirm the pickup point in the trip chat. Your phone number is never shared.
- Add an emergency contact in your profile so the SOS button can reach them.
During the trip
- Match the car's make, colour and number plate before you get in — the full plate appears once your booking is confirmed.
- Passengers show their 4-digit boarding PIN to the host. No PIN, no ride.
- Share your trip with family or a friend with one tap. The link stops working after you arrive.
- Wear a seatbelt or helmet, and speak up if anything feels wrong. You can ask to stop somewhere busy and well lit.
After the trip
- Rate each other honestly. Ratings are revealed only after both people rate, so nobody rates in retaliation.
- If the trip didn't happen as it should, report a problem from the booking page within 24 hours. A person reviews it.
- Report anything inappropriate, even if it seems small. It helps protect the next traveller.
How we verify members
Verification is instant, so nobody misses a ride waiting for approval — and it never exposes your private details.
Phone verified
Everyone who books or offers a ride confirms their mobile number with a one-time code.
Work & college email
Members can verify a work or college address instantly and join communities of colleagues or classmates.
Ratings you can trust
Only people who actually travelled together can rate each other, once per trip.
Reliability score
Cancellations and no-shows affect a transparent score that everyone can see, with every rule explained.
Reporting and blocking
- Report a member from their profile, a ride page, or any message in your trip chat. The person isn't told who reported them.
- Block someone from their profile. You won't see each other's rides, can't book each other, and can't message each other.
- Report a review that's abusive or untrue. Our team can hide it.
- Anything else? Contact the safety team or email safety@commutex.app.
Sharing your trip
From a confirmed booking or your ride, tap Share trip to create a private link. Anyone with the link can see the host's first name, the car and number plate, the route, the expected arrival time and — during the trip — an approximate recent location.
Links never show phone numbers or email addresses, expire a few hours after the trip, and can be turned off at any time. Location is rounded to about 100 metres and deleted after 30 days.
How we handle reports
| Type | First response | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Emergency (SOS) | Immediately | Our safety team is alerted the moment you press SOS. |
| Safety, harassment, dangerous driving | Within 4 hours | High priority. We may restrict the account while we investigate. |
| Fraud and fake profiles | Within 4 hours | High priority. Payment and account activity is reviewed. |
| Other reports | Within 24 hours | Reviewed by a person, never an automated rejection. |
Every report is read by a person. When we restrict an account we always give the reason and a way to appeal. Read our community guidelines.
